Eatin'

The last several weeks, Braxton has decided that he no longer wants to sleep through the night. He would prefer to get up in the middle of the night for a little snack and some play time with Mom and Dad. So, in order to try to delay the play time until morning, we started this week to try to feed him rice cereal. And, yeah, this is a little harder than I thought! Wednesday was the first day. He ate about two bites before he tried to throw himself out of his chair. Thursday, we tried to feed him while Dad held him. Well, the only thing we accomplished was to get Jon's hands all full of white goo-ey mess. And, Friday, he flatly refused to open his mouth and started a screaming fit that lasted about 1/2 hour. So, so far, he's had a total of maybe half a tablespoon down! Needless to say, he's still getting up at night to eat. So, we'll keep truckin' along. It's all such a learning experience for the whole household. Even Chance was a little confused by our new experience.
Otherwise, Braxton is doing great. He is laughing out loud a lot, and is on the verge of rolling over. He is the light of our every day!

I think babies just tease you with sleeping through the night. Never get used to it or take it for granted. As soon as he starts again, he'll probably get some new teeth and that will wake him up. Now that Jeff is...mostly...potty trained, he wakes up in the night to go to the bathroom or after the fact. It's been over two years and I'm sure that we've slept though the night less than we've had to wake up. Just keeps us used to it for the arrival of number two, I guess. :)
