Let's Here It For The Boy!
It has been an interesting several weeks in the Perkins' household. Seems like Braxton is changing before our very eyes, and it is so hard to keep up!!
First, we went in for our four month shots and check up last week. He took the shots like a trooper. A few tears were shed (by the baby, not me :), but nothing as horrible as our two month appointment. They had me hold the little guy's arms, and he looked up at me, and gave me the saddest look I have ever seen. My heart broke into a million pieces right there. It was definitely harder for me than for him!
Anyways, they also weighed and measured him. We are currently clocking in at 20 pounds 8 ounces, and 27 3/4 inches long. Yeah, I know what you're thinking - that's pretty big! On the growth chart, he is in the 99th percentile for both - he doesn't even register on the curve! The doctor said that as long as they are proportionate to one another, we have nothing to worry about. Jon's hoping we have a future linebacker on our hands - he's banking on Braxton for our retirement :).
Then, this last weekend uncle Dave and soon-to-be auntie Sarah made a quick visit home from North Carolina. They were so impressed by how much Braxton had grown. And, fortunately, Braxton was in a good mood most of the time :). Dave was especially impressed when his knee got puked on! We are looking forward to them coming home again for Christmas.
And, the big finale happened last night. The little man rolled over!! He was trying to watch his daddy put together his new car seat (yeah, there's a 22 pound weight limit on ours!). He couldn't quite see what dad was doing behind his head, so with lots of grunting and a few tries, he managed to roll from his back to his belly. Well, now that he's figured that out, he rolls over every time you lay him down!! He's not so impressed with spending that much time on his belly, so I'm guessing he will learn to roll back the other way in a short period of time.
It is just simply amazing to watch all of the changes. Oh, and in case you are wondering, we tried the rice cereal thing again, and it's going much better this time around :).
