Have a Holly Jolly Christmas
Well, Christmas has came and went at the Perkins household. And what a time it was!! We started celebrating on Saturday and didn't call it quits until Tuesday night!! Fortunately, everyone that we love came to us this year, and we did not have to travel at all.
Uncle Dave flew in from N. Carolina and spent the week in Jamestown. And on Friday, Aunt Kerri arrived from Bismarck. Saturday, Uncle Rhett arrived, along with all of the wonderful Johnson Great Aunts and Uncles and Grandpas. Oh, what a time we had! Sunday, we were with the Southam Gang (and had some fun with "Aunt" Molli). And Monday and Tuesday we went between G/G Perkins and Great G. Hunt. We enjoyed spending every minute we had with all of our family (though Braxton picked up a snotty nose from all the kissing!). Jon and I ate a ton of food, and Braxton even got to try a little of Great Gpa's fruit soup (don't ask - but it IS really good!).
Though all of the family was the highlight of our Christmas, Santa and his helpers did manage to bring Braxton soooo many different toys (and clothes, and books, and sleds, and trikes, and...) and we are so thankful for everything that we received. We've obviously moved on from the rattles onto the loud, banging, clashing, (I could go on) noisy things. :) But, as babies will do, he definitely would have preferred a big ol' box of bows and ribbons instead! Those things can get pretty slimy when left in a baby's hands!!
We are all kind of happy to be back into our regular routines and getting into the swing of the day-to-day stuff. But, we look back on this whole week and thank God for all of the wonderful family and friends that we have, and our good health and good fortune, and, most of all, for the best present of the season, our "Little Turkey", who makes the world go 'round.
