Ready, Set, Go!!

I sit here at the computer at the end of a very busy night in good ole' J-town. Braxton is learning new tricks left and right. In the time span of 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, he learned to pull up on things (first Mom, then his toy keyboard, then Dad!), and then he magically learned how to get from his tummy to sitting on his butt (twice!). What a night!
And he is quickly working on all of the transportation modes at once. He can kind of maneuver from place to place by hopping on his bottom. And he is taking some steps (the pictures show his grace :). He usually averages about two before falling down, but we counted five the other night! The crawling thing is a little harder for the poor guy. He only really likes to practice when he's nakie, so those times are hard to come by (yeah, not sure what that's all about...).
Braxton's new favorite past time is to get thrown on the couch so that he can throw himself back off of it and Dad can catch him mid-air. The child has absolutely no fear!! And he laughs the entire time. I don't get it - I think it's one of those "macho man" things that I am going to have to get used to ;).
What else... He says "da da" all of the time - sun up to sun down! He's not really sure what it means, but he knows it makes Dad really happy when he says it. I keep throwing in a "ma ma" here and there, but so far no takers. And his sense of humor has just exploded. He laughs when you drop a ball on the floor, he laughs when the dog walks by, and if something's not really funny, he'll humor you with his "courtesy" laugh/cough noise.
All around, this is a pretty enjoyable time with the little guy. It is simply amazing to watch the changes that occur every day. He is growing so fast - bittersweet as it is :).

Wow, sounds like you had an exciting January. I would love to meet the little man just so I could pinch those adorable cheeks. Way to go on the walking! I bet he is taking all sorts of steps now. Take care and kiss the little man for me.
