This past weekend, Braxton went around town sporting his first "hawk". His daddy and him worked hard that morning to get the little bit of fuzz that he has on top of his head to stand strait up. After a little hair gel, and a good dowsing of water, well, you can see the results. His daddy was quite proud of his little punk rocker. And all of the little old ladies at the mall commented on how cute he looked with his spikey hair-do. Though Braxton didn't know the difference, it was fun to see him truckin' around with the "do".
Outside of the new hair, Braxton has been keeping us busy with lots of new tricks. He has been "officially" walking for about a month now. And today he learned how to stand up without pulling up on anything. I think that our crawling days are quickly coming to an end. He has been so amazing to watch over the last several weeks. He is handing out kisses (mouth wide open :), clapping when he's excited, and working hard to keep up to Chance. It is so fun to see the two of them together. Though she still likes to compete for our attention over Braxton, she has gotten to be quite the "buddy" for him. He gets so excited when we come home for the day and she greets us at the door. And he loves to chase her around and steal her toys. Though you can tell that it drives her crazy, she patiently waits for him to get bored with them, and follows behind to quietly pick up her things.
It is hard to believe that in a little over a week he will be 11 months old! And to think that we get to start planning a birthday party soon is quite exciting. I can not even say how quickly the past year has gone by. And it is amazing how it gets better all of the time. He was the center of our world since he arrived, but I am still amazed at how much things have changed in our home since he made us a "real family". I never would have thought that my idea of a fun Saturday night would be letting the baby stay up past 8:30 so that we can play peek-a-boo! Oh, what a life it is!
