Campin'
Last weekend, we took our first ever camping venture. Granted, we only went about 2 miles out of town, but, hey, it's a start! For those of you that don't know, Jon and I have been working hard to clean up the old Perkins' camper (1974 it is, I believe). We have scrubbed it 'til we can scrub no more, and Jon has repaired all of the plumbing, etc. Despite the 70's decor, and the hailed out siding, it's not too bad of a rig.
The weather didn't do much for us - it rained, and even hailed, for a while. But Braxton was a trooper, that is the main thing. The benefit of camping so close to home is that all of the grandmas and grandpas were able to stop out and enjoy the evening with us. (I kinda think they were just stopping by to make sure that we hadn't had a major melt down, but whatever :) We had an excellent time, Braxton included. He spent his time riding his four wheeler, trying out marshmallows for the first time, and spending time with his new friend, Hayden (our friends, the Somsens, joined us).
We're looking forward to when we will get to go again. Maybe next time, we'll actually get farther than two miles out of city limits :)!
