The world of Mom, when she's not the Mom
I know that everyone that checks out this post only looks to see pictures of Braxton. Though I can't blame you, I'm going to take just a sec to talk about something else. Mostly because my camera is temporarily MIA, so I have no new pictures to share. We are on the search, though.
The last several months, outside of running around after Braxton, has been very busy in itself. For those of you that don't know, I graduated at the end of May with my Master's Degree in Social Work! Yippeee!! I completed a two year on-line program through Florida State University (go Seminoles!). My diploma should be arriving any day, and I will then get to write the coveted abbreviations behind my name - MSW :).
And this week, I was officially hired as the Lead Social Worker at the ND State Hospital! I have been acting in this role since graduation, but the move was "official" this week, after a round of interviews. I will be supervising the Social Work Department (there's 8, including me), which includes program development, direct supervision, management tasks, board meetings, etc, etc. This is considered 1/2 of my role, and the other 1/2 of the time, I will continue with the direct consumer contact that I love. So far, it seems to me to be the best of both worlds (we'll see how I feel later :). Not to mention a raise, which anyone would appreciate :).
So, that's been the world of Mom as of late. My new job has been keeping me on my toes already. That being said, I am hoping to kick back and enjoy the summer just a bit. Oh, but I also have to complete a new round of licensing exams (no small feat), and I've put a fall deadline on getting that done. That's to make sure that everything I learned doesn't leave my head before I can pass the test!! So, keep your fingers crossed :).
