Kids Are Weird!
I am officially naming this weekend "The Weekend of the Hat". Recently, I dug out all of Braxton's winter clothes. Along with some of the new things we bought him, we also rescued his hat and mittens from last year. Well, there must be some fond memories there, because he wanted to wear them all weekend! He wore them yesterday when he was playing with his toys (but only one mitten). And he wore them today when he had his snack. It seems as if he would eventually get hot (which you could tell by the sweat curling all of his hair), take the hat off, and forget about it. So, I would take everything back to his room. Then, inevitably, he would find everything again. He then would come up to Jon or I trying his darnest to get everything on, with little success. So, we would help him, and it would start all over again. He even got mad at his dad when he didn't velcro the strap!
And that is only one of the weird things he started doing. We've also seen him (on several occasions) attempting to belly-bump the dog. And then I catch him and his dad "walking like a duck" - arms back, bent over, running around like goofballs. And then we have the "sumo walk", where Braxton spreads his legs far apart and stomps around the living room, grunting with every move. I've also seen him sneaking a kiss from the baby in his (my) baby photography book. I just love that no matter what is going on in one day, I always know that I am going to get at least one good laugh when I get home :).
K, for those of you that have already read this and thought, "boy, kids really ARE weird!", I can top it! Tonight, as I was putting dishes into the dishwasher, I looked over to see my son - drinking water with a spoon - out of the dog's dish! Wow!
