Campin'
This weekend was our first camping adventure of the year. The whole thing started the weekend before when Uncle Tim told Jon that he and Kristen wanted us to go. So, Jon and I spent the week getting the ol' ghetto ride ready to go. Then Friday came, and it was FREEZING outside. I think I called Jon three times to try to talk him out of going, giving him a play by play of the most recent weather report. Needless to say, it was a futile effort. We were going camping!
So, we packed up and headed out. We were only heading a few miles out of town, so I knew that at least I could always turn around and head back in after everyone had gone to bed. Fortunatly, though, I didn't need to. The weather actually held for us. The evening was cool, but perfectly nice by the campfire. And even more fortunatly, the heater in the camper held out. So, with four adults, one two year old, one dog, and a working heater in a 7x15 (k, that's a guess) box, we were all quite toasty. I was, though, a little happy that Jon had to be back to town by noon. Saturday would have been miserable!
Though Braxton argued about going earlier in the day - "Bracky no wanna go camping!" - he ended up having a BLAST! Just like last year, he got right into the spirit of things. Digging in all the dirt piles, eating hotdogs and marshmellows, and just running around like a crazy man. And he was so excited when all the Grandma and Papas showed up - "More Yama Papa!!!" - he could hardly stand it! Though getting to bed was a bit of a challenge, it was all in the name of fun. So, now we're off to plan our next big adventure for the summer :).
