Mom & Dad go on vacation

The first week in June, Jon and I took a much needed "Grown up" vacation.  Several friends and us traveled to northern Minnesota and chartered a houseboat.  We were on Rainy Lake, which is right near the boundary waters.  The digs were rough, to say the least, but all the better, right?  And I was VERY happy that I didn't get sea sick.  I'm the kind of person that gets sick on just about anything.  I swing too high, I start to get a little pukey.  So, to say I made it through the whole trip without one barf is to say a lot :).

The guys were a little disappointed that the fishing wasn't very good that weekend (p.s. I caught the biggest fish all weekend!), but I can tell you that I had a BLAST!  I brought a stack of books and a cooler full of drinks, and had a very nice, baby-free time.

We caught a turtle off the back of the boat!!  Fortunately, pretty sure he was unharmed.

The four days we were gone was the longest that I have ever been away from either of the boys.  So, by Monday, I was itching to get home.  It is great to leave, but it is even better to come back!  Braxton kept asking what we did on vacation.  After everything I told him, he said "Oh!  Like Bernstein Bears and Too Much Vacation?".  Yeah, something like that...
