Urban Cowboy

So, for everyone that reads my blog often, you know that I have two little boys that are quite in love with playing "pretend". We have obtained ourselves quite the collection of costumes, or "suits", as Braxton would call them. Well, tonight was one of the funniest sessions of "pretend" I have seen in some time! Grandma Carol and Papa Glen came over for supper. Of course, the boys got Papa roped into a game right away! And, as you probably know, "Cowboys" is one of favorites at our house. So, tonight, the three cowboys (Braxton, Kyler, and Papa), were busy! (Strangely, Braxton spent a good portion of "Cowboy" dressed as Buzz Lightyear, but I didn't ask questions...) They started out wrangling bad guys. They had quite a load of them in jail (or, in the shower, depending on how you look at it). Papa had the gun, Kyler had the rope, and Braxton flew around finding them and pointing the way. After all the bad guys were wrangled up, they decided to set up camp and cook some supper. Catching bad guys really works up an appetite! So, Papa is stomping around the house asking Braxton to find him a moose, an elk, by the end I think he would have taken just about anything on four legs. But Braxton was just not able to "spot" anything to cook up for supper. Papa tried one more time with a "Boy, I sure hope we find something to hunt. I'm really getting hungry!". Braxton's reply - "But Papa, I have our supper here in the cart!", as he comes strolling up with his grocery cart full of boxes of food! Apparently, they were hunting around the corner from the Seven-11 :). I think that Braxton has a bit to learn about "roughing it". They ended up settling for a box of Cheerios and noodles. I guess even the roughest and toughest of cowboys should know where to buy the nearest box of Cheerios...

This is so funny...I wouldn't imagine anything different from "Papa", now Braxton, I know he has an Einstein mind but to lead Kyler in the same direction is quite a hoot!
