Conversation with Kyler
So, I've been meaning to write this down for a few weeks now, and just haven't found the time. So, I'm taking a short break from work just to make sure I don't forget :).
About two weeks ago, the boys and I were planning a trip to the Bismarck Zoo. Kyler was still in bed when it was nearing time to go, so I went down to wake him. Now, if anyone has talked with Kyler the last several months, he will tell you that not only is Mommy having a baby, so is he. Mommy is having a girl and he is having a boy, because girls have girls and and boys have boys. His baby's name is "Bracky". Any conversation about the coming baby consists of "Your baby AND my baby, right Mommy??" I have no idea what is going to happen when this baby comes and he doesn't have one of his own... So, anyway, the conversation that morning went like this:
Me: "Kyler, it's time to get up now so we can go to the zoo."
Kyler: "But my tummy hurts!"
Me: "Well, if you tummy hurts, how are we going to go to the zoo?"
Kyler: "My tummy hurts because my baby is pushing on it!"
Me: "Oh?" (trying not to laugh)
Kyler: "Yeah. I need to go to daycare for an ice pack."
Poor kid. I can SOOO sympathize!! :)
On another baby note - I am exactly one week away from my due date. So, I am slowly counting the days. But trying not to get too hopeful. I went over with both of the boys and had to be induced both times. But, when I went in for my first appointment with this pregnancy, we had a lengthy discussion about my cycles, prior pregnancies, etc., and decided that my due dates prior were probably off. Thus, had a a 6 week ultrasound to determine this date. Initially, we had planned on a due date of June 11th (4 days ago), but this changed after the ultrasound. So, I have a glimmer of hope that I may get to go into labor on my own some time around my due date. We'll see, I guess. At times, I feel like I am having contractions, but being that I have no idea what contractions feel like without a huge dose of petosin, I'm just not sure. What I do know is that nothing is regular and nothing gets stronger. So, we plug along :).
