Etta is 6 1/2 months old and is popping her 2nd tooth. You can just see it coming through. She got the first one a few weeks ago. And it is growing and growing. She seems to be handling them like a trooper. No fever, no fussing. Just a LOT of drool!
Etta had been battling a lot of illness prior to Christmas, but has been very healthy since then. It has been nice not to have to worry about fever, ear infections, etc. I am not sure why the switch, but it is welcome!! She continues to be just a GREAT baby. Cries a bit when she is tired, then goes to sleep easily. She eats well, but not much. She has been eating baby food for about a month now and has been expanding her repertoire on a regular basis. This weekend, we are trying peaches for the first time. My mother in law bought us a Baby Bullet for Christmas, so we have been giving this homemade baby food thing a try. It is a bit of work (and a really big mess the first couple of times), but I think it is working out pretty well now that we are getting the hang of it. I made some amazing looking sweet potatoes this afternoon!! Pretty proud of myself :).
We continue to battle a bit in regards to her sleeping at night. Most nights she still gets up in search of a bottle. I've always thought that a 6 months, babies no longer needed to get up in the middle of the night? Heck, Kyler was sleeping through the night on day 1. But I am guessing that being she doesn't eat much during the day, she makes up for it at night. She has her bottle and heads right back to sleep.
Anyway, just a quick little update. We just took Etta's six month (ok 6 1/2 month) pictures this morning, so I will be sure to have those up later this week. And I still have to get some photos of Christmas on here too.
