Oh, Kyky...
So, there I was, having a relatively leisurely day at home. Or at least as leisurely as you can have with three kids under 6 running around. As I am upstairs, I hear a crash, then some crying. I yell "Everybody upstairs right now!", figuring Braxton and Kyler were having another tift. But no one came. And then Braxton came upstairs, looking a bit pale. He begins speaking in incomplete sentences - "Kyler. He fell. Bleeding. Everywhere. Can't come up. I didn't do it!" Or something to that effect. And then he burst into tears. So, down I ran. I met Kyler at the bottom of the stairs. He is standing there, his hands outspread like he's waiting for a hug. He is crying, but not much. He looks at me and says "There is blood everywhere." Um, yep. Holy crap!! So, I run him upstairs, stand him in the tub. But he is bleeding so much I have no idea where it is coming from. At this point, he is whimpering, but still not really crying. I tell Braxton to bring me my cell phone and then put him in charge of the baby. I undress Kyler so I can wash him down and find the cut. I call Jon, giving him direct orders to return home. And now. So, after the rinse, it's pretty obvious he has the gaping wound on the top of his head. So, to the ER he and daddy go. Per dad's report, he was awfully brave. And he came home with every possible prize the ER could have. I then inspected the crime scene. After much discussion with both the man in question and his older brother, it appears that Kyler dove head first off of the end of the couch and landed on a dumbbell. The scene of the crime confirmed it - blood smeared on the wall, blood on the carpet below the dumbbell, blood drops and hand smears on the couch itself. All in all, it's a mess! And now, here he is with two staples in his head and a crazy day behind him. Betcha he doesn't do that again!
