Etta's First Birthday
It is so hard to believe that our little girl turned one year old today. I know it is cliché, but it feels like just yesterday that she was born! I still clearly remember sitting at home that night realizing I was going in to labor. I remember almost all of that night and bringing her into this world. And now I have this amazing spitfire of a little girl who has stolen the hearts of every one of our family members. We go in for her one year check up on Friday, so I will be sure to post all of her stats when we get those. I know for sure she is nowhere near the size of her big brothers.
At a year old, this is what can be said about Little Miss Etta Loy:
At a year old, this is what can be said about Little Miss Etta Loy:
- She crawls like crazy. She will walk behind a walker and along furniture. She throws a fit if you try to make her walk between people or by holding her hands. I mean throw herself on the floor screaming fit.
- She has said "pup pup" for puppy and has said mama and dada a few times (or so we think).
- She will waive bye bye and give kisses (when she feels like it - are you noticing a trend here?).
- She LOVES to tease her big brothers by patting them on the head, smiling, reaching for them. But she HATES when they get in her space or get too rowdy around her.
- She is still using a pacifier, which Daddy always swore was a no-no after the first birthday in our house (another trend...).
- She sleeps through the night most nights. But will wake up looking for her paci on occasion (see above).
- She loves to eat finger foods. Her favorites include fruits, pizza, cereal. She shows little interest in baby foods any more. The only thing she will eat by spoon is yogurt and apple sauce. She's not much of a bottle kid. She's not much into liquids in general, but seems to like milk better than formula.
- She is definitely of a different temperament than her boys. I'm not sure if it is possible, but I have to believe there is a significant difference between boys and girls, even at this young age. She will throw fits over the littlest things, screams, flirts, cuddles, seems to simply show every emotion more than the boys ever did.
