Park and Rec Basketball

I have very fond memories of spending all of those Saturday mornings at the local elementary school gyms playing basketball. It was always so exciting to see what color team you would be on, what team your friends were on, the list goes on.  Well, I've decided being the mom of a Saturday morning basketball player is even BETTER!  This is Braxton's second year playing the eight week park and rec activity.  He LOVES it.  He loves getting out there, learning and listening to his coaches, practicing his skills, and being with his friends.  The one thing, though, that he doesn't love is to lose...  The poor kid just beats himself up when he doesn't do well!  This has lead to some really great conversations about team work, trying your best, never giving up, etc., etc.

I think what I enjoy the most, though, is watching his heart!  He is out there giving 100% every single time, the whole time he is out there.  Just like with any other sport that he tries, he give it his ALL.  It is so great to se that work ethic we try to instill in all of our kids actually at work.  I can't wait to see what comes for our little guy, no matter how he decides to apply those skills :).
