What I want my kids to know...

So, just finished a conversation that I am choosing not to write about, because I am hopeful that I will soon forget...  In all honesty, not a life changing conversation, and likely not the last time that this will be a topic of conversation.  BUT, it makes me feel like THIS.

I sometimes get tired of a world so full of hate, and so full of judgement.  I've learned through my work and my life that, you know what, unless you have walked in someone's shoes, you are in no position to pass judgement.  Regardless of the situation, there is always more to it than you can expect.  And until I become a perfect human, it is not my right.  Nor is it anyone else's.

Life is hard enough the way it is.  Why must we make it harder by judging others?  We are all just human. We are all just doing the very best that we can in that moment.  Maybe it's not perfect, but it's the best that we can give.

Please, kids, don't judge.  Life is too short.  Judgements make you bitter.  They make you angry.  And they are very unbecoming of a successful person.  You will get so much farther with love, compassion, and a little bit of acceptance.  Please accept that the world is not necessarily the way we think it should be, but it is doing the very best it can in the moment.
