Perkins Family Christmas

Last weekend, we celebrated our annual "Perkins Christmas" at Matt and Mollie's house. It is so fun to see our little family start to create all of our own traditions. There are things that we get to look forward to every year, which is what family is all about! One of our most exciting "new" traditions (though it's been several years now), someone is in charge of creating a new "Perkins Family Calendar" for the next year. So, we all get to flip through the photos of the year gone by and comment (and laugh) about each other. And the other greatest tradition is Grandma Sandy's stockings. We all have a stocking, all 16 of us. And each one comes filled to the brim with all of our own personalized stuff. And I mean STUFF. It is always really useful stuff, or stuff you didn't even know you wanted, or stuff you've never seen before, or stuff that she knows that you love. All mixed into one. This year, I had a movie theater gift cards, an automatic can opener, Irish Cream liquor sample packs, kleenex, a wine cork, etc, etc. So many things its hard to remember. It's so neat to me that she puts so much time into each of these stockings. It sure makes a girl feel special!!
