Our Little House on the Prairie
Here is our temporary Little House on the Prairie. We were very lucky to sell our house in town in a market that has been very hard for sellers. They offered to delay the purchase so we can stay in the house until our new house was ready. But I was worried about anything that could go wrong during that time, and so we decided to close and move, even though our new house wasn't ready yet. So, we lived HERE. This is the upstairs of our shop. This is supposed to be my future photography studio. But for 2 months, it was our home :). Our home without walls. But, it had a shower, it had a toilet, and we made due with beds - Jon and I on a blow up mattress, Braxton on a cot, Kyler and Etta on mattresses on the floor. And a hand-me-down hand-me-down kitchen cabinets from Mom and Dad, hand-me-down table with folding chairs, etc, etc. We made good use of the crockpot and pizza oven. We washed our dishes in the bathroom.
It was an experience to say the least. But you know what, it was actually pretty fun. It was fun to listen to the kids every night "Good night Braxton! Good night Kyler! Good night Etta! Good night Mom and Dad!" It felt a bit like the Waltons ;). It brought us closer together, it was fun to see the final touches of our new house being done, it was a great way to get our feet wet to country living!
