Christmas

Christmas 2020 was different. It was different on so many levels. This was our first Christmas without Granny. We missed her so much. We attempted to honor her memory by gathering to make the Christmas cookies that we have enjoyed for so many years. We surely didn't have the same spread, but we did find a lot of joy in that. It was also different because we were still so much in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. We streamed church, watching it in our living room with a glass of wine. We didn't travel, though we did get together with our extended families for the first time.

As the pictures capture, we had so many different opportunities to celebrate our favorite holiday. We made cookies at our house and our little family had a chance to open pictures together on Christmas morning. We spent Christmas at Tim and Krysten's house with the whole Perkins gang - Santa even showed up!! And then shortly after New Years', we traveled to Kerris, where we made gingerbread houses and played pinochle way into the night.

The blessings of family become sweeter and sweeter every year. The opportunity to be together was made even more precious this year given everything else that was happening in our crazy world. We are beyond blessed and thankful for our families. I say a little prayer for the blessings of family that God has placed upon us!!
